Gary Steven Walker, 65, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2017 at Cedar Ridge Nursing Home, Pocatalico.



Gary was born on August 19, 1952 in Charleston. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beulah Canterbury Walker; and brother, Jeffrey A. Walker. He is survived by is father, Howard R. Walker of Marmet; daughter, Deanna L. Walker; sons, Steven R. and Jeffrey L.; grandchildren, Ramon E. Quintana and Deliah J. Walker, all of Orlando, Florida; brother, David R. (Debby) of Elkview; sisters, Jerri L. of Marmet, Jean Ann (Roy) Collins of Dunbar, and...

Gary Steven Walker, 65, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2017 at Cedar Ridge Nursing Home, Pocatalico.



Gary was born on August 19, 1952 in Charleston. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beulah Canterbury Walker; and brother, Jeffrey A. Walker. He is survived by is father, Howard R. Walker of Marmet; daughter, Deanna L. Walker; sons, Steven R. and Jeffrey L.; grandchildren, Ramon E. Quintana and Deliah J. Walker, all of Orlando, Florida; brother, David R. (Debby) of Elkview; sisters, Jerri L. of Marmet, Jean Ann (Roy) Collins of Dunbar, and Brenda K. (Ed) Yates of Martinsburg. Also his cousin and best friend, Mike (Sharon) Hanna of Marmet, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.



Gary joined the Air Force while still in High School and was stationed in North Dakota and Hawaii. He lived most of his life in the Orlando, Florida area where he retired as a welder. He loved Nascar, especially #88 Dale Jr. He was an avid fisherman and spent many hours on the Wekiva River where he had a camp.



Special thanks to the nurses and staff at Cedar Ridge Nursing Home for taking such good care of Gary.



Per his wishes, Gary will be cremated and there will be a private memorial service at a later date.
