Obituary


Mary Maxine Buckley Dawson passed peacefully the evening of Saturday, April 8, 2017, surrounded by family.



She was born to Thomas Albert and Mina Schiltz in Malden on April 26, 1927.



Mary graduated from DuPont High School class of 1946 and the year of 1948, she married Winfred Summers Dawson.



She was a retired mail carrier in Charleston with 25 years of service and an associate with Walmart in Charleston for close to 20 years.



Mary enjoyed quilting, reading her Bible, daily devotions and visiting...

She was a retired mail carrier in Charleston with 25 years of service and an associate with Walmart in Charleston for close to 20 years.



Mary enjoyed quilting, reading her Bible, daily devotions and visiting with friends when she was able.



She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her siblings, Dorothy Marie Kirk, Arthur Raymond and William Thomas Buckley.



Mary is survived by her three daughters, Lillian (Michael) Hunter, Linda (Jack) Chambers and Barbara Hess; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.



The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with Pastor Rick Gardner officiating. The burial will follow the service at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.



Family and friends will gather for the visitation on Tuesday, April 11, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
