Maynard Ashley Hudson, 84, of Winifrede, passed peacefully at the home of his daughter on Sunday, June 18, 2017.



Mr. Hudson was born in Chelyan on March 3, 1933. He was retired from the Winifrede Railroad and was a member of the Old Glory Freewill Baptist Church.



He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Hudson; parents, Melvin and Nancy Stone Webb; brothers, Norwood and Clayton “Natchie” Webb; and special cousin, James King.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Donny (Edith) Hudson of Marmet and Monty (Candy) Hudson of Chesapeake; daughters, Bonny Wood of Belle and Connie Guy of Alum Creek; sister, Ethel Perdue of Winifrede; brother, Jesse (Jewell) Webb of Owensboro, Kentucky; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.



The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with Pastor Tim Cooper and Pastor Ollie Parsons officiating. The burial will follow the service with military rites at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow.



A visitation with family and friends will be held on Wednesday, June 21, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
