Sara Jean Kinison, 78, of St. Albans, formerly of Campbells Creek, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Hubbard Hospice House West.

Mrs. Kinison was born in Charleston on September 17, 1938, to the late Ralph and Lorena Morris Whitecotton. She was employed as a secretary for Kanawha County schools and Central Office with 21 years of service and was co-owner of Kinison's Appliance Store for over 30 years. She was a member of the Coal Fork United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Kinison was born in Charleston on September 17, 1938, to the late Ralph and Lorena Morris Whitecotton. She was employed as a secretary for Kanawha County schools and Central Office with 21 years of service and was co-owner of Kinison's Appliance Store for over 30 years. She was a member of the Coal Fork United Methodist Church.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Darrell Kinison; and granddaughter, Shanda Dawn Fitzgerald.

Surviving include her children, Valerie (Porky) Shores of St. Albans, Amy (Dana) Wilfong of Coolville, Ohio, Christie (Jamie) Peterson of Malden and Mark Kinison of Charleston; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2017, at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, Cross Lanes, with the Rev. Pete Thompson officiating. The burial will follow the service at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. A visitation with family and friends will be held one prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank all of the Hospice team for their loving care of our mother and also her special care givers, Mary, Doreen, Heidi and Devona.
